We are back with another car of the month and this time we are featuring the beautiful 1952 Muntz Jet. While we shared a couple pictures of the Muntz Jet in our latest article ” Why You Should Have A Classic Car On Your Wedding Day”, I wanted to go into more detail as to why this car is so rare and unique!
So let’s dive into the specs and some fun facts on the 1952 Muntz Jet Convertible.
1952 Muntz Jet Convertible Specs
Year, Make, Color: 1952, Muntz Jet, Yellow on Yellow.
Engine: Lincoln Flathead V8 engine.
Engine Performance: With the V8 engine, the Muntz Jet produced roughly 205 horsepower, hitting over 100mph. Which was really fast back then!
Fun Facts: There were only about 400 Jet’s ever made! All the Jet’s were convertibles with a “Carson” top. Apparently, with the Lincoln Flathead V8 engine, the car could go from 0-60mph in under 9 seconds! Between 1951 and 1954, they tried to recreate the Muntz but production shut down after losing an estimated $1,000 on each car, according to ConceptCarz.com. To this day, there are about 50 cars that survived.
A rare beauty if I do say so myself! Don’t you agree?!
