It’s summertime which means one thing; road trips! Road trips are a great way to see the world & have fun at the same time. There is nothing better than relaxing in your vehicle while driving through the countryside listening to great music. However, in a blink of an eye, an emergency could happen. While we don’t like to think about a car accident or being stranded, it could happen to any driver which is why you should always be prepared. ChicMoto shows off some emergency items you should keep in your car, especially when packing up for a long drive.
You can never be too safe!
Emergency Items You Need In Your Car & Why (With Video)
You could be the safest driver out there but others, not so much. With more & more vehicles on the road, fewer drivers are aware of their surroundings ( and texting while driving isn’t helping). It is very sad actually. According to The Wall Street Journal, ‘U.S. road-death rates remain near 10-year high. Auto industry points to smartphones & distracted driving, lawmakers look at the role of alcohol & opioids.’ While we hope nothing ever happens to you, you never know which is why we believe you can never be too prepared. These emergency items can definitely help in, well, emergency situations.
Remember, calling 911 is always the first step in an emergency situation and for the most part, help will arrive quickly. But, if it is a very snowy day, or you are stuck in an intense thunderstorm & help is delayed, the items below can be very useful! Heck, they can even save your life.
I am not saying you should keep all of these items in your car at all times because I know space is limited. A lot of these items can fit right in your glove department or middle console. But if you still don’t have the room, then just get into the habit of packing them with you for road trips. Just like filling your tank up with gas, these items are needed.
p.s. I forgot to mention something that is actually attached to my car keys! A Swiss Army Knife (or similar) is definitely something you should keep in your car or attach to your car keys 🙂
